**All in all, if you're OK with the price, it's worth trying. If you're looking for bang for your buck or something very secure, I'd check out other bedside safes**Been through a number of comparable locks in my life and my complaint has always been batteries, so I was excited to see this product.Pros:Works easily as advertisedEasy to change the comboSeems sturdy enough for what it is. It'll keep the kids out of it briefly, but someone with a crowbar or a sawsall will get into it in a few minutesCons:WAY overpriced. It feels like nothing but plastic, you can get a nice metal safe of comparable size for a fraction of the cost. Yes it has new 'tech' but I don't think it's worth paying well over twice for something that's more sturdy, of stronger material, and does the same thing. I've been using keyed safes for years, they're not a big deal.Doesn't come with a cable to retain it to anything, nothing stopping from someone from walking off with it.Foam inside isn't easily adjustable, it's all glued in so it can't be changed once you cut it and it doesn't look great after you tear part of it out I your gun will fit..Overall, I like the stopbox. While it does have its drawbacks, it does what it is advertised to do and the minor flaws are not worth sending it back over. My pros and cons are as follows:PROS:Will keep your firearm out of the hands of children/anybody you don’t want to pick it up and pull the trigger. You can make your own unique combo and nobody should be able to get in it. The combo can be unlocked fast with some practice and should be quickly accessible in an emergency situation. I use it for a full size M&P9 with a flashlight and spare mag, and it fits. I also like that it is lightweight and could be used during travel. It has a slim profile, so I’m able to keep it in my shallow nightstand drawer. Overall, it works as advertised.CONS:For the price, I expected it to be a little more sturdy. The company doesn’t advertise it as a safe, but for what it is, it could be slightly less costly. The combination is not easy to reset, like a padlock is. You have to take apart the combination mechanism to change it. Not hard to do, but not easy or quick either. Although it fits a full size handgun with a flashlight and spare mag, I noticed that the larger the firearm, the harder it is to close the box, and sometimes the thumb release gets slightly sticky (it has never had a problem opening, however, just a brief snag once in a while). I did cut the foam to fit my firearm a little easier, which probably wouldn’t be necessary for something smaller.Again, overall I am pleased with the product and it works as advertised. It has some minor flaws that could be improved on by the manufacturer, but nothing worth being unhappy about. My 1911 barely fits. I have to position just right for the case to close. Never mind trying to store an extra clip.I bought this Stopbox for my husband for his birthday. He really liked it and the idea of it since we have 3 little boys. It is not a safe, but a quick access lockbox. Ultimately though, he did not think the value was there at $100 for a plastic box. He said if it was metal, he would love it. That or if the price point was a lot lower. He returned it and is on the hunt for something similar but made of metal. Stopbox, we want to support you - please make a metal one! This is a sturdy box. It's not bomb proof or can withstand being run over by a vehicle. But, if you need a storage/safekeeping box that is small enough to stash in your nightstand out of sight, then this would be a good option. It can securely store most handheld home defence tools and one or two additional magazines (depending on size). The lock is simple and can be accessed very quickly. Just remember to push down on the box lid as you are operating the lock. It's designed to open with your right hand. So if you are right handed then practice to get familiar with it. The foam insert keeps the contents protected and from making very much noise. There is no need for batteries or any kind of power source. I would recommend this item. The unlocking mechanism was easy for me to pick up right away and I can do it quickly. My husband didn’t like the feel of it however, if this was his case, he would have hassled with changing the code. Even though I had my son and husband both attempt to get into it, and they couldn’t, it still feels a little flimsy to me. I would not suggest taking it on the go or leaving it unattended ever. This is not a safe. It’s simply on my bed side table for easy access if needed. The stop box is definitely pricey for what it is. It will keep kids safe if you use it to store your home protection weapon. But it is by no means a secure gun safe. Any adult could have it open in a few seconds with a decent screw driver. It’s made out of pvc plastic. But I bought it to keep my pistol in and have quick access to it. And to know my small son wouldn’t be able to mess with it. 4 stars cause it’s expensive for what it is. But it works exactly as described. The function works very well as intended. I would probably buy at least one more of either the price was lower or the materials upgraded. It seems like they should be able to make the main box out of steel even if the actual locking mechanism is plastic still. I just feel like one drop onto tile or concrete would likely destroy some part of it. But I'm not willing to be the one to destructively test it haha. Also it's just TOO SMALL! It just BARELY fits my G19 with a tiny o-light pl mini on it. If I had a G17 or slightly larger flashlight or extended mag base it simply wouldn't fit. And the G19 isn't really a big gun by most standards. No hope of fitting an FNX-45 which I would actually like...If they make one or all of the changes I'm suggesting I'd definitely buy more.Edit: I'd just like to reiterate that the size is the main issue. I'd like to be able to fit a g43 or G19 WHILE IT'S IN ITS HOLSTER and it's way too thin for that.
