Solidly built. I've owned several over my 80 years and all have worked well without incident. I did purchase another brand combination lock at the same time as this one and actually prefer the other's appearance and numeral scrolling function to the Master Lock's. Also this shackle has a raised "Master Lock" that binds in the ring of my marine dock box latch, for which it was destined. So I have a new favorite in combination locks, but that shouldn't detract from the Master Lock, which is solid, reliable and has been demonstrated to perform perfectly after sitting for months exposed to the elements. It's also priced below my new favorite, so it's a bargain, as well.
